THE CALL FOR FULFILLMENT IN YOUR CAREER
Business people often say, “Focus on what’s in high demand and build a product around that to be successful.”
But what if the high demand doesn’t match my values? What if I seek something more fulfilling? As an introvert who was shy in the past, deciding to cultivate change in society isn't easy. But it’s a path my soul urges me to take.
📚 PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND (2010-2015)
I never got a university degree. But yes, I studied and still did a bachelor thesis—a collaborative project on a social spot series about child poverty in Germany, including a documentary. I applied for jobs across Germany and landed my first role as a Junior Editor in Munich. I worked with a great team, surrounded by inspiring people, learning a lot about media production and storytelling, mostly in motorsports. My inner voice was quiet then.
🌍 YEARS (2015-2022)
I tried to move to New Zealand but failed due to low demand for international creatives. I returned and started freelancing, which suited my working style. An illusion of freedom, as it seemed. My connection to Red Bull Mediahouse helped me survive as a Senior Editor for the Air Race series. Great time, with amazing people, but something was missing.
Eight years passed. Still in my comfort zone. The passive freelancer. Not a business or entrepreneur. My inner voice grew louder. Yet, I wasn't ready to listen. But my awareness began to shift, mostly inspired by my wife Anna. Then the pandemic hit, and the world seemed to get weirder. And of course, it affected the media industry too. This is still before the rise of AI generative content.
🌿 BREAKTHROUGHS AND REFLECTION (2023)
I took a break from a world in fear mode, retreating to the jungle in Peru for self-reflection. Silent retreat, no books, no tech, free from external distractions, I rediscovered the art of “being.”
Then back in the modern world, and what the f***k is happening. Like the emotional intelligence just keeps dropping. Ah yes, AI is starting to become a thing.
🧘 LATE 2023-NOW
Winter was slow in 2023 for me regarding work. So time to reflect again, to integrate what I meant by “being.” The result: Anna and I founded PAX ANIMA. Our journey has started, the ripple effect has begun.
💡 THE CALL
Einstein said, “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” So maybe it’s time to change our thinking.
What if your inner voice is screaming at you, but you can’t hear it over the noise? Like constantly wearing noise-canceling headphones.
What if shifting to what seems like a “low demand” now is the solution to many problems we face today? This shift requires patience, emotional intelligence, and self-reflection. It’s not easy, but perhaps that's what makes it so important. Because greatness was never achieved by those who took the easy road.
And there is a legend that it takes about 144,000 people to change the collective consciousness – less than 2% of the current population.
